Description

Hands-On 1-Week Weaponized Drone Build Class for Bomb Technicians

This 1-week Mobile Training Team (MTT) course extends our 1-week Construction Build Class with a full focus on the weaponized sUAS threat. Students build flight-ready drones equipped with inert munition surrogates, multi-stage safe-arm circuitry, and the same proximity, GPS, and command triggering profiles encountered in current threat reporting. All payloads are inert training surrogates — no live or simulated explosives are used.

Built for HDS-trained public safety bomb technicians and military EOD personnel whose render-safe-approach mission set now includes weaponized commercial drones. The only path to confidently rendering safe what threat actors have built is to build it yourself first.

Daily Structure

  • Day 1 — Electronics & Initiation Refresher. Soldering, multimeter, LiPo safety + improvised initiation switches (microswitch, reed, tilt, light/IR, mercury-simulator) wired into low-voltage gates driving relays and MOSFETs.
  • Day 2 — Multi-Stage Safe-Arm Circuit Design. Double-redundant safe-arm logic, manual safety pins, time-and-motion arming sequences, dis-arming and safing circuits, integration with onboard radio command links.
  • Day 3 — Drone Build I. Frame, motors, ESC, power harness, smoke-stop test on a 5-inch FPV / loitering airframe.
  • Day 4 — Drone Build II + Multi-Payload Integration. Flight controller, ELRS receiver, video transmitter, FPV camera. Integration of three different inert payload types — mortar surrogate, bomblet surrogate, and shaped-charge surrogate — with servo-actuated release linkages for each.
  • Day 5 — Triggering Profiles + Range Day. Proximity (mmWave / IR), GPS geofence, manual command, and time-on-target triggering profiles. Outdoor range day: maiden flight + inert payload drops with each triggering profile + post-drop forensic-marker walk-through.

What’s Included
