This IED Electronics Workshop will be conducted in our San Diego Training Facility on the following dates:

In this workshop, Students will:
- Identify the schematic symbols for a different types of resistors
- Determine a fixed resistor’s value (color code)
- Identify variable resistors
- Use resistors in a circuit
- Describe how relays are used in an electrical circuit
- Recognize the schematic symbol for a relay
- Discus how relays are configured in an IED circuit
- Discuss how a battery is used within an IED
- Identify the schematic symbol for a battery
- Determine the total voltage available when batteries are placed in series and parallel
- Explain internal resistance of batteries
- Describe how capacitors are used in an electrical circuit
- Recognize the schematic symbol of a capacitor
- Discuss how capacitors are configured in an IED circuit
